Why Corporate Retreats Are More Than Just Time Away

One of things I love doing outside of my 1-2-1 and group breathwork classes, is my wellbeing work with corporates and small businesses. And my absolute favourite is the design and delivery of bespoke corporate retreats.

I’m often asked by potential clients what a retreat could look like for them. The short answer is – almost anything you want! But I know myself that starting with a blank page can be the ultimate ideas killer, so I thought that in this issue of the Wellbeing Exchange I would provide an overview of the types of retreats I offer, and some of the formats that have worked for previous clients.

What is a corporate retreat?

A corporate retreat is an opportunity to take your team out of their everyday environment and to provide space for a focus on wellbeing, connection and new experiences.  The bespoke corporate retreats I deliver are always tailored to the specific needs, goals, and culture of each organisation. Retreats can range from one-day experiences to multi-day (up to five days), and are designed specifically with the group size in mind – I’ve delivered retreats for groups ranging from 40 to 65 participants, including annual company away days.

What sort of activities could I expect on a corporate retreat?

Over the course of each retreat, I provide a balanced and integrated programme of wellbeing practices such as breathwork, coaching, meditation, and mindfulness – in a wide variety of forms. I work with a network of trusted practitioners and bring in specialists (e.g. yoga, nutrition, cold exposure) depending on the retreat objectives.

Examples of retreats I have delivered

  • A 26-mile canal walk over two days, incorporating coaching, mindful art, nature connection, and meditation.

  • A two-day spa hotel retreat, including:

    • Guided hikes in the Peak District (with multiple groups led by team leads)

    • Evening fire ceremony

    • Workshops on nutrition and sleep

    • Yoga sessions

    • Cold water therapy

Won’t it be a lot of work for my business to organise?

No! I work with you to ensure the retreat is aligned with your organisation’s objectives, but rest assured, the heavy lifting stays with me! My corporate retreat service includes full retreat design and facilitation. I also support with logistics and planning including venue sourcing, food coordination and dietary considerations, and participant safety and wellbeing.

And for those extra special touches, I can put together bespoke retreat goodie bags, including items such as eye masks, muscle rubs, and mindfulness tools to enhance the experience and create a sense of care and enjoyment beyond the end of the retreat itself.

What are the benefits of a corporate retreat?

Corporate retreats are more than just time away - they’re a chance to reset, reconnect, and experience something meaningful together. Stepping out of the usual routine helps teams bond naturally, build stronger relationships, and share new experiences.

With guidance from skilled practitioners, people also gain valuable insights and tools they can carry back into both work and daily life. The result is a team that feels more energised, connected, and genuinely inspired.

I’d love to chat with you about your corporate retreat ideas – why not book a short discovery call and let’s see what we can achieve together!
