The Arrival of Spring Doesn’t Automatically Boost Energy

The Arrival of Spring Doesn’t Automatically Boost Energy

The recent spell of sunshine and the arrival of blossom is undeniably welcome. But longer days don’t automatically mean unlimited energy. It may feel as though everyone around you is bouncing into Q2, but it’s important to recognise that the arrival of Spring won’t instantly undo months of accumulated fatigue.

Individuals and teams expect to feel better - so energy dips can feel even more frustrating and less “acceptable.”  Leaders who misread the gap between expectation and reality may unintentionally end up with teams feeling pressure rather than support.

Practical Ways to Reset Energy at Work

If your team is finding that energy and motivation levels are inconsistent, why not try introducing practical workplace tools to refocus the mind, and additional support and guidance around wellbeing outside of work. By building these tools and habits into the day, energy peaks and troughs can be levelled and importantly, sustained.

  • Breathwork techniques to reset the nervous system - Simple breathing exercises such as box breathing can quickly shift the body out of stress mode, helping employees regain focus, reduce overwhelm, and feel more in control within minutes.

  • Nutrition habits that support sustained energy - Consistent, balanced nutrition, especially stabilising blood sugar levels, plays a key role in avoiding energy crashes and maintaining focus throughout the day.

  • The importance of sleep for cognitive performance - Quality sleep underpins everything from decision-making to emotional regulation, making it one of the most critical (and often overlooked) drivers of workplace performance.

  • Simple daily reset practices employees can use during the workday – Why not try building regular microbreaks into the day (e.g. 50:10 = 50 minutes of focus, 10 minute break for walking, stretching or movement – no screens!), and regular breaks for fresh air.

Introducing “Slump to Sprint”

I have worked with many corporate clients to address exactly the kind of energy and focus issues outlined above. One of the most popular sessions I deliver is Slump to Sprint, a corporate Lunch & Learn style session designed to help teams reset their energy and performance.

In a typical Slump to Sprint session we cover:

  • Breathwork hacks for focus and stress regulation

  • Nutrition strategies for sustained energy

  • Sleep and recovery for cognitive performance

  • Practical tools employees can use immediately

Supporting sustainable performance requires more than quick fixes - it calls for practical tools that address how people actually feel and function at work.

Breathwork is increasingly being used by organisations to do exactly that. If you’d like to explore corporate sessions or experience the benefits yourself, you can find out more or join one of my FREE monthly online breathwork sessions. Register for this month’s free session here:

Thursday 19th April, 12pm

Or my next free session will be May 21st - I'd love to see you there!
